Job Description East Hawaii Medical Group | Medical Oncologist/Hematologist | Hilo, Hawai'i East Hawaii Medical Group is in search of a Medical Oncologist/Hematologists to join our East Hawai'i Medical Group Team. This position is located in the East Hawaii Health Clinic Cancer Center of Hilo Medical Center. The East Hawaii Region (EHR) of Hawaii Health Systems Corporation includes Hilo Medical Center, Ka’u Hospital, Hale Ho’ola Hamakua, Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home and the network of primary and specialty clinics within the East Hawaii Health Clinics. Key Responsibilities: Conduct consultations with 10% hematology and 90% oncology patients Prescribe medications, infusions, order laboratory tests/imaging and coordinate follow-up care as needed. Provide education and counseling to patients and their families about their cancer diagnosis, treatment options, and supportive care resources Participate in the monthly Tumor Board meetings. Conduct comprehensive assessments, including history-taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations. Diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, preferences, and medical history. Collaborate closely with healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care. Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and follow-up recommendations accurately and timely in the electronic health record system.
